Self-regulating heating cables
Automatically adjust their output based on ambient temperature. As resistance rises, power decreases and vice versa, preventing overheating without additional regulation. Depending on design, they cover temperature ranges up to 250 °C.Resistance heating cables with temperature control
Parallel or series resistance cables require external controllers and thermostats. The control system switches the heating on/off according to ambient conditions. Suitable for applications demanding high flexibility and precise performance.Mineral insulated heating cables
Designed for extreme environments with temperatures up to 1000 °C and exceptional chemical resistance. Ideal where plastic or self-regulating cables are not sufficient.

Resistance heating cables with temperature control
Constant wattage heating cable with parallel resistance wires, serial heating cable and heating tape
Heat is produced when an electric current flows through a specially designed conductive material with high electrical resistance. According to Ohm’s law, the heat output depends on the material’s resistance (determined by its specific resistivity, cross-section, and length) as well as the applied current and voltage. The current must remain below levels that could exceed the conductor’s melting point or the insulating material’s maximum temperature. To regulate power output, multiple resistances can be arranged in parallel or series configurations.

Parallel Constant-Wattage Heating Cables (e.g., ELP/Si)
Parallel constant-wattage heating cables consist of two supply conductors embedded in primary insulation, wrapped with the heating conductor, and surrounded by a second insulation. A protective braid and durable outer jacket ensure maximum safety.
These cables provide uniform heat output per meter, feature single-end power feed for easy installation, and deliver reliable performance across industrial and process applications. Typical uses include freeze prevention and temperature maintenance in pipes, vessels, and valves, for example in the food industry.
The parallel resistance heating cable is made up of active heating zones, defined by the contact spacing. Electrical continuity exists along the heating zones.
The cable can be cut to the required length for each application. Sections beyond the last active zone remain inactive and can be used as cold leads.
For accurate system design, one full contact spacing should be added per heating circuit.
The required nominal power is calculated based on supply voltage, ambient temperature, and target maintenance temperature.
